It's all about meme meme meme
Unless you've been missing from social networks for the last few months, you've been inundated on FaceBook, Twitter, and Instagram with memes. What is a meme you say? Well, a meme is defined as an image or video that is passed electronically from one internet user to another. My definition of a meme is a picture with annoying text written over it (see above). Are some of them funny? Yeah. But are they mostly annoying? Hell yeah. The most annoying thing about memes is they are mass-produced and copied over and over and over again. What is the purpose of being on social networks if all you're going to do is reproduce other people's ideas?
Me, I like to be an original. My own thoughts, my own ideas...other people's recipes. Hell, that's why I started this blog. The internet has become our virtual footprint. I, for one, want my footprint to be my original work.

Guest Book Review: Fifty Shades of Grey
Today, we have a guest book review! So, I told yall how squeemish I was reading the sex scenes in Mogul so I knew I wouldn't be able to handle The Shades. But don't worry, my good friend Nay wrote a book review for you:
I dove into Fifty Shades of Grey. Even though I'm super busywatching missed episodes of Scandal On Demand writing reports, I made sure to set aside precious moments every day to read me some Fifty Shades. Halfway into the book, I realized why....it's because I really, really hated this book and wanted it to end as soon as possible.
The heroine of our story is an outlandishly insecure recent college graduate Ana, who is 'seduced' by a rich, gorgeous psychopath named Christian Grey. Mr. Grey showers Ana with all kinds of ridiculous gifts and breaks her off with more sex than the Duggars have per year. But, he also has strange, 'dark' rules, such as the fact that he does not like to be touched or looked at....oh and then there's the small thing of him wanting to literally beat the s#!t out of her.
Overall, the takeaway from this book is if you think you're an otherwise bright young lady whose looks leave much to be desired and you meet a man who humiliates, stalks, force feeds you, makes you cry (oh, and did I mention beats the brakes off you) you should probably go for it cuz that's as good as it gets. And even sadder than that is the fact that this book has been met with critical acclaim by women all across our society. Oh, the empowerment! Well, yall check out Books 2 and 3 and let me know what you think. As for me, I'll be reading the Autobiography of Ida B. Wells or something to get my life back on track.

Div's Monkey Bread
I didn't grow up eating monkey bread (I'm looking at YOU, Ma) but I should have. There's cinnamon, sugar, brown sugar, bread...what I imagine clouds taste like.
This monkey bread was a part of a delicious brunch I recently had at my apartment for a few of my girls. We had brunch, mimosas, and made visions boards. Who knew cutting out pictures and crafting could be so therapeutic but we had so much fun.
I made my monkey bread in these beautiful Rachel Ray ramekins, but you could use a muffin pan also.
Ingredients
1 or 2 cans of refrigerated biscuits
Cinnamon & Sugar mixture
Brown Sugar
Cooking Spray
Egg Wash
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees or whatever temperature the biscuits recommend.
- Spray ramekins (or muffin tins) with cooking spray then sprinkle a light coating of brown sugar over cooking spray.
- Cut biscuits into fourths or sixths.
- Coat each piece of biscuit in egg wash then cinnamon/sugar mixture.
- Place your coated pieces of biscuit in your ramekins. You can put as many or as little pieces as you would like. This is where you freestyle.
- Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and biscuits are done.
Now, some people make an icing to put on the monkey bread. Those people are just being greedy. Bon appetit!

LeBronathan James
I believe it's time to put all the speculation to rest. I know you were waiting on me to weigh in on the LeBron/Kobe/Jordan comparisons and I'm finally ready. LeBron James is arguably the greatest basketball player we've ever seen. Here's why:
- Kobe and Jordan both had Hall of Famers in their supporting cast. Shaq was the most dominant player in his prime and Scottie Pippen was easily the #2 player in basketball, after Jordan of course. The only reason LeBron didn't win earlier in his career was because of his supporting cast. His teammates were Boobie Gibson and DeLonte West -_-
- LeBron is a team player and usually looks to pass first, unlike the other two. This guy gets triple doubles as often as a teenagers get pimples. The last time Kobe got a triple double, it was a SportsCenter headline.
- He's the size of a power forward (think Karl Malone - look it up), but with the quickness of a point guard (think Rajon Rondo)
- LeBron is the youngest player to do EVERYTHING. Youngest #1 overall pick, youngest at every thousand point milestone, youngest triple double, youngest to average 30 points...I could be here all day. And remember, when Kobe came out of high school, he was trash his first year.
- And, just look at his stats: Career Assits ~ LeBron (6.9) Jordan (5.3) Kobe (4.7) Triple Doubles ~ LeBron (35) Jordan (28) Kobe (18)
So do yall agree with me?

Broke Ballers
Terrell Owens, Allen Iverson, Antoine Walker, Vince Young. The list goes on. What do all these guys have in common? Well, they're broke. Despite once being millionaires and world class athletes, these dudes are broke. But, it didn't have to be that way. There are plenty of dudes who have been able to parlay their sports careers into wealth.
Take Magic Johnson for example. He's parlayed his basketball career into an empire. Even after being diagnosed with HIV, which could have been career (and life) ending, Magic just kept buying Starbucks & movie theaters. And look at him now, he owns 2/3 of L.A. Michael Strahan. He's got a gap in his teeth and now he sits next to a perky White girl on a national morning talk show. He's winning. George Foreman wasn't smart enough to give his 12 kids different names, but he was smart enough to slap his name on that grill.
That's why it baffles me when you hear of the latest, former millionaire, who's filing for bankruptcy. I mean, how many chains and rims did you buy? Bet you regret poppin that last $600 bottle in the club don't you. Until athletes (and Black people for that matter) understand the difference between being rich and being wealthy, going broke will always be an issue.
Let me break it down for you: as long as you're cashing a check endorsed by someone else, YOU AIN'T WEALTHY.

4 thighs
Salt & Pepper
1 TB oil
1 TB ketchup
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. honey
1 or 2 garlic cloves, minced
8X8 dish
I didn't even take pictures of this while I was making it cuz I didn't know how it was going to turn out but it's amazing so I needed yall to know about it ASAP. So let's pretend we have pictures:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Season the chicken with salt & pepper. Not too much salt, the soy sauce is already salty.
3. Spray dish with cooking spray
4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and coat the chicken. Place chicken skin side down.
5. Cook for 30 minutes. Turn chicken. Cook for another 30 minutes.
6. Lower temperature to 375 degrees, cook for another 15 minutes.
Your chicken will be fall off the bone delicious. You can thank me in the comment section.

Disappearing Acts
You ever meet a guy and yall really connect? You have great conversation, you really enjoy each other's company. You go out on a few dates and things are starting to look really good. Then, all of a sudden....out of the blue....you never hear from him again? The hell?
This disappearing act is all too familiar to us women. But why? Male meth-heads, why do you get our hopes up only to abruptly let us down? Were you ever really into your lady friend or were you being fake the whole time? And why not just say, "Hey, I think you're really nice but *insert truth here*."
I was recently a victim of one of these magicians. He came into my life like whirling dervish and then poof he was gone. Damn, and I didn't even get him to complete an exit interview...
